Force provided a pretty thorough answer. I hope it helps the guy out. It can be tough keeping connected to the modern world in this day and age without social paraphenilia. I don't have internet at home, and if not for my work computer I could not connect to the forums myself.

Double Take Replicas has a resin Thermo King reefer unit, it's not a modern one but for the trailer he wants to put it on it's perfect, the problem is that it's unfortunately out of stock right now.
The reefer unit Double Take has is a copy of the unit in the old ERTL Great Dane Reefer Trailer kit but rectified so the gauge panel is on the correct side wich the kit unit isn't, as I said, it's not a modern unit but newer than the old unit on the AMT Reefer Trailers.
American Industrial Truck Models has a 1950's Thermo King unit but it's probably too old for what he wants.
If he want a modern reefer a suggestion is to get the Moebius 53' box trailer wich has a modern reefer option, I believe it's a Thermo King, they have two trailers and it's not the smooth side trailer that have this option.
Or, if he doesn't mind buying over seas, Auslowe Model Accessories has a Carrier Maxima 2 unit in resin.

Hey all,

I recently received a letter from a reader in Tennessee named Allen. He's laid up after foot surgery, doesn't have access to a computer, and is using his phone as his only connection to the outside world. He has a question about a reefer unit for a semi trailer, and I'd like to throw the question out here to you guys to see if we can come up with an answer for him. Here's his letter:

"Im reaching out to fellow guys and gals out there in the hopes someone can help me. Im needing to find if theres an individual or aftermarket company that makes a modern reefer unit that can be put on any 1/25 semi trailer like amt's coke trailer. Im very limited in my research as I dont have a computer and I use my text feature on my phone as a crude email. I would go to my library to look up what I need but I recently had major surgery on my foot and will be laid up til late sept or october. It could be from the old amt watkins reefer trailer or ertl great dane reefer or a totally scratch built one. Resin or original plastic is fine."

Do you have any suggestions I can relay back to Allen? I'll send him your suggestions on Friday.

Thanks!

TK
