Chevy off road van parts.
Posted by streetrodnut on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 2:53 PM

I just saw a built model of the Chevy off road van on eBay that has some broken parts. I have the reissue of the 77 Chevy van from revell. I’m wondering what axles and suspensions I could use to make my kit into a high roller van?

IIRC, that van is 1/24 scale. So, I would use the axles etc. from the Monogram GMC that Revell reissued with a snow plow some time ago.

That sounds good. I also thought about the big game country truck as an option as well. I might have to use a little “creative engineering” to get the wheel spacing right. The rear axle in the van is wider than the snowplow truck axles are. But they just might work. Thanks for the tip. I will definitely keep it in mind.

Yes you are correct about the scale of that kit. It is 1/24. Btw I also won a Chevy Blazer junkyard off eBay. It is 1/24 as well. The truck chassis from the gmc truck would work as well wouldn’t it?

There will be a difference in wheelbase between the two. But, nothing drastic. You could probably get by with moving the rear axle forward and cut the rear of the frame off if you don't want to mess with making the frame shorter.

I’m not too bothered about shortening the frame on it. Thanks for the input.
