After restoring my '60 and '61 F-100s, I wanted to do an old Chevy. Found this on ebay. It was mint except it for the resin chrome replacement parts. They weren't very well done. So, I didn't use them. I instead used the grille, bumpers, turn signal pods, tail lights/housings, tail gate latches and side view mirror from the newer AMT kit. It took a lot of work to get the body into shape. Lots of putty work, filing and sanding had to be done. It paid off in the end. But, I wouldn't want to do another one! It's just a simple build of a simple kit. I may someday go back and add some detail to the engine.

Very nice looking truck. Looks good in red.  Where did the wheels come from?

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

The old Chevy looks great. I have one of these in my stash, so I know how much it took to make the kit look that good. Very clean and well massaged. The tinted windscreen is a nice touch and well done. Overall excellent effort.

Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

Thanx! The fronts are from an AMT '49 Mercury and the rears are from an AMT '34 Ford sedan.
