Older truck parts sources?
Posted by nhdiesel on Monday, October 22, 2018 9:31 PM

Hi all,

I'm getting back into modeling after a break of many years. My main interests are older pickups, commercial trucks, farm trucks, etc. I like weathered or slightly weathered, which is something I'm still learning. I think I could describe it best as building what you would find driving around in the early 70s. Trucks from the 30s through the early 70s in various stages of aging.

I have several truck kits I will be building. There are lots of new and excellent sources for custom parts. I'd love some feedback for sources for parts to customize these older trucks. Dually 20" tires and wheels for older truck conversions, like the Revell '41 Chevy I plan to turn into a 1 1/2 ton. Any chance anyoe sells flatbeds? Not that they are hard to scratchbuild. I'm interested in any other products that would work well with older trucks and pickups.
