Ford LN-8000 WIP

alt="" />This is the first large truck kit that I've ever tried to build.  This is based on an old [mid-late 80's vintage (?)] Ford Louisville Short Hauler.  I belive this is the LN-8000 model truck, but I am not a truck guy so I'm only going by what I have seen via Google.  This is an old kit that was in my stash for many, many years.  It has a good deal of flash, mold/parting lines, and ejector marks that needed sanded away before paint and finishing.  So far, construction has gone well.  For the most part construction has been straightforward with parts fitting rather well.

The frame is a multi-piece unit that requires quite a bit of finaggeling in order to get it square and plumb.  I don't think I got it quite 100% right, but the engine and other pieces are fitting together.  It must be close enough.

For the age of the kit, the detail is pretty impressive.  Here are a few WIP shots.

Hey Spence!  Good eyes.  I’m not sure if that was a previous issue of the Dirty Donny kit.  I probably built that at least 8 years ago maybe longer.  It was the AMT Super Bee Pro Street kit.  The other one I’ve got is marked kit #31929.  Either way, it made one helluva impression on me as it is my favorite kit.  I feel like I may have posted it here under a now defunct user name.
