78 ford F150 stepside custom not so 4x4

working on this not so great revell kit. It's an easy builder kit but its not a great kit to work with.

I decided to chuck the 4x4 and go with a 2 wheel drive and lower it.

I hacked the living crap out of the chassis to get what I wanted.

front end suspension points cut out and the Twin I beams were chucked in the garbage.

I made up some arms from a few 53 ford kits that were no good.

what was, what is.

installing a 427 from the Galaxy kit. fits the frame not the engine bay.

I used brakes from a corvette and the wheels are from the Newer style "bullet" Mustang

A much better looking model than from the box! May try that myself

I would have liked it to fit a bit better. everything just seems to sit on top of the chassis, but really doesn't have a seated position. kinda like the Chevy Silverado AMT kit where the interior tub snaps into the cab and the box also hooks in, it would have given it a lot more stability

I finished off the body last night and did some work to the engine. sadly I don't think that I will ever open the hood unless I do some drastic plastic work. I have never seen a model where you can see the open interior tub through the engine bay. most kits you see either have a full fire wall or the interior tub is the lower half of the firewall/floor. Really bummed out about that.
