Kellys Heroes Jeep
Posted by spencer1984 on Thursday, November 23, 2017 7:40 PM

Something a little bit different for me, I used Italeri's kit to make the Jeep driven by Clint Eastwood at hte beginning of Kelly's Heroes. I decided to make the usual Hollywood inaccuracies part of the Jeep's personality, as if it was a salvaged piece that Kelly used as a mobile trading post. Details came from Hasegawa, Custom Dioramics, my parts box, and a few scratchbuilt items:

A longer writeup of everything that went into the build is available here, and any comments/criticisms are welcome

Nicely done! The added details are very convincing. Thumbs Up

Thanks guys! This is the 1/24 kit. No real engine detail since the hood is glued closed (better to line up the vacuum line for the wiper without having the windshield able to move), but here are a couple of chassis pics:

As everyone has said, " Nice!"

I dig it!!! I think the hasegawa kit is the only 1:24 kit there is.... I have a 1:35 kit, Wayyyyy too small! I'll use it in a diorama one of these days though. I wish they had the dragon SAS kit in 1:24 with the quad .303 machine guns on it!! - Rudy

Thanks, guys! Italeri and Hasegawa both did 1/24 Jeeps, plus the ld MPC kit in 1/25 is close enough for some projects. I've done two of the three so far
