Wow! That is a seriously cool build. I love the style of this model and you have done a great job on it. A pick-up with safari windows is about as cool as it gets. The bikes are a very nice touch, too. Did you make the tire decals? They look great. I love it Patrick, nice work.

I never knew there was a transkit of the long cab pick-up, and I never heard of Scale Productions. The body looks quite nice. I would love to get my hands on one of these. I checked out their site and their stuff looks good, though couldn't find the VW pick-up. Now that I know it's out there somewhere I'll keep my eyes open for one.

Thanks Trevor. The tyre decals come in a standard aftermarket set of mixed tyre lettering and about 6 or 8 different companies. Yes I'm certainly impressed with the Scale Productions products, I also have one of their dioramas I use on here from time to time. I've always been interested to see these VDubs with the Safari windows although you can't use them here in the UK as the weather is not good enough! I've just looked on their website clicked on 'kits/transkits' and it's on the first page.

It's the 1966 DoKa at 44 euros.

Thanks for sharing … quite an intriguing model, very well built with lots of personality. The cab of the Hasegawa VW kit would be an excellent starting point for building a replica of the “Chevy Rebellion” wheel stander.

Thanks Racer H. Yes I've looked at the Hasegawa kit over the last few days while building this and wondered what to do with it when the time comes, perhaps cut the cab off but leave the windscreen and make it a surfer taxi?. I have a few other builds I'm contemplating at present. Hawk Sandpiper, VW Camper, Nissan KDR30 Skyline etc.
