Where are all the SUV and fullsize pickup model kits?

The Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram are 1-2-3 respectively in vehicle sales in the United States and yet the Revell '99 Silverado is the only kit I can find for any of them. There are very cool kits for the Ford Lightning and Ram SRT-10, but no fullsize FWD kits. It seems like they would be popular, given America's love affair with trucks, but no kits so far...I have the same question about SUV kits. I can find them in level 1 snap kits or in diecast, but nothing beyond that. Wouldn't it be sweet to make a Hummer H2, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Chevy Avalanche, etc?

I would like to see the F-150 and Ram replicated in kit form. Maybe with a couple versions since I hate the look of the 20" wheel package on the Ram, and the FX4 package on the new F-150, but many people seem to like them. Maybe a "sleeper" version of the Ram 1500 with ST trim and the 5.7 under the hood. Personally though, I prefer older trucks from the '70s and '80s, some of which are available in kit form such as the early '80s Ram 50 I am working on now.

As for SUVs, I can't say that I would buy any kits of new SUVs aside from the Wrangler. I would like to see an early Bronco kit as well as a Bronco II kit and later ('92-'96) Bronco kit. A K5 Blazer would be a welcome addition too.

Yeah, I wonder sometimes too about the lack of pick-up kits. AMT has out currently a re-issue of the 1993 F-150, and The 1982 Dodge D-50.
I instantly bought both of them.

Had to answer to wife when I got home......... ha ha

I told her it was a modeler's thing, ans she gave me....The Look!

All joking aside though, the F-150 kit is N-I-C-E. Get it if you can!!! The Dodge D-50 kit has a tonneau cover with 4 15" subwoofers built in!!

This may explain a great many things though:

I too want to see more SUVs. Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Explorer, older full size Bronco, and my dream--- a mid-'80s Ramcharger!Smile

I agree!!!! Someone needs to step up to the plate and make theses trucks and SUV's into kits!!!

Plus, The ford ranger was the best selling mini pick up truck in the 80's and 90's, and the earliest ranger that is is kit form is the '93!!! I would love to see a mid 80's ranger and bronco II!!!

Just my 2 cents!!

I definately agree there. Some will disagree with me, but I truely believe that the '83-'88 Rangers and Bronco IIs were some of (if not THE) best trucks ever built. We had an awesome 1986 Ranger that was indestructable. The 2.3 was no rocket, but it did its job and was very reliable. There has never been a scale model kit of a first gen Ranger or Bronco II built, and that is a shame.

Hey kustombuilder1, I know Tamiya makes a Jeep Grand Cherokee kit if you can find it. It's just about the only SUV kit out there.
