Pair of R34 Skylines in Progress
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 4:30 AM
This is a pair of Tamiya R34s I have underway. First is a V-Spec II painted in Testors BlacknBlue pearl and the second is a standard V-Spec painted in Tamiya Camel Yellow. Both have work to do on the chassis's and need lowering before fitting the interiors.

Nice. Like the yellow paint. Is that the same color as the F1 Honda Lotus-Camel car hence the name Camel Yellow ?

I love skylines! it's a shame they were never exported to the states so we could enjoy 1:1 skylines without paying $80,000 for one.

The wheels are the standard ones that come with the kit.
2cam16; Yes that is the same colour. It is actually the colour Tamiya put out for the Repsol NSR500 that Mick Doohan rode. Not sure what the part number would be because it doesn't have one on the can.

That Camel Yellow is a great color. One thing I think Tamiya needs to do is update the cans, 'cuz when I look at the color swab, I don't see an adequate representation of the color.

Nuts,

I was at my LHS today and the only reason why I picked up that can of Camel Yellow was your build. I would have never guessed that great color would come out of that plain can. I hope what ever kit I use it on it looks as good as yours.
