94 Stealth RT Tuner Project
Posted by RICKm61 on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 9:48 AM

Hi everyone

This is a i believe a 05 Dodge Stealth that i was going to build box stock, but after looking the kit over i decided to make a tuner car out of it. Here are some starter pics of the first mod i did..On the box stock the spoiler is mounted right behind the window. I just move the spoiler back 1/2 inch.

Before

After

I am filling the front holes in with filler and filing off the outer edges to add side plates to the spoiler.Let me know what you all think.

Good idea.  I would use styrene rod to fill in the unwanted holes.  It would be easier to work with than any type of filler.  Will you be putting a nitrous tank and some speakers under that window?

Cool.  Please post some pictures when you get the chance.  I Pro Street'ed a Stealth (yeah, it's got a Hemi) around 1994 and I'd like to see your tuner version.

Nice! I like it. I want to get started with my Stealth, but I am missing a headlight :( (which makes me not want to continue). But good news, I have one comming!!!:)  :)  But PLZZ, keep us informed. I would like to see what you do with it. While I wait for the headlight, I can check-out yours, get some ideas. But cool so far.

I have worked on the engine on this project most of the day. Mod's to this engine are scratch building a coil for the plug wires and running them under the plenium, out the plenium to the cyclinders. I have also worked on the body some today and come up with a paint scheme.Canary yellow with carbon fiber hood and spoiler that will be painted instead of decaled.Pic's to come tomorrow..thanks for looking everyone..i am really enjoying this build.

Well i ran into a little snag. When i went to install the shocks i found there wasnt any in the kit. I contacted Revelle and they are sending another kit. So until it gets here i have a 1:24 scale 68 Camaro that i will start a WIP on soon.

I just realized that the Stealth pro-street that I built was a '91 or '92 vintage Ertl kit that I won in a contest.  Please let me know the kit number of the '05 Revell Stealth kit.  Thanks.

Ok lets see how these pics came out. Can anyone tell me by the side of the car what year this is.

When it stops raining i will go out to the shop and take pic's of the chassis i have completed so far and the box so i can determine a year. Keep in mind the this model has not been final sanded, decaled, and clearcoated, nor has the hood and spoiler had the second stage for the carbon fiber yet, but im getting there.

Thanks for looking

Ok it finally quit raining long enough for me to get some shots. The first is of the box. The 3 other ones are of the chassis and motor. I scratch built a ignition coil for the car, i just don't have it installed yet. Here are the pics. If anyone know the year could you please chime in so i can get the year down right. Thanks for looking.

SWEET!  But DO NOT, I REPEAT  DO NOT  paint your side skirts black. Because my uncle did it on his 1:1, and it makes it look really high, not low like its suposed to.

No one wants to give a guess on the year. I am now 99.9 % sure its not a 05. I know the pics of the car are not good enough to try and see the year. but the box should be. I guess i need to have a chat with Mr. Google and do some research.

I'm not sure if the Stealth was in production in '05.  Either way, this should be a cool build- something totally different.  I would definitely use the carbon-fiber on the roof panel; maybe even the top of the dashboard and the interior, below the hatch.  Have fun with this build and keep the pictures coming.Thumbs Up

John

I am going to take your advise on the carbon fiber. This project is on hold for a few days as i need to get to town and get more paint and some wedding veil for the last part of the carbon fiber detail. Still working on the 69 camaro though, but this project is my favorite by far.

Ok a few more pics of this project. Its been slow as i want to finish my camaro off and i started a Ford Pickup..basically i have a few things to do in the engine bay and finish the interior off then this one is complete.

Everyone let me know what you think of the graphics on the side. The more i look at it the more im not sure about it..might be going to the dunk tank with this body, that means stripping the windshield out of it.

Graphics are OK.  Are you keeping the stock wheels?

John

I dont think so..they are just sitting on there for now..funds are very limited as jobs are scarse here. What would you recommend for wheels

If fund$ are limited, hit the parts box or raid another kit you have "in stock" for...maybe something from one of the Revell tuners, or the Revell California series kits with the cool wheels and drilled brake decals?  Good luck, you'll find something to use.

Thanks Moparnut.Ok everyone my 05 project is now a 94 project. I will be starting back to work on this tomorrow.

Rick

Uh that would still be a year off...... It has side scoops, and lower diffuser molded into the front airdam, but Dodge removed them for the '94-96 Models('91-93 Models included the scoops and diffuser)..... This is AMT's '94 TT Stealth R/T
