Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 4:08 PM
I am doing this thread to get a idea on how i should do this kit. I had went to the hobby shop today and to my suprise found a civic hatch kit by revell. i have been looking for this kit.

My question to you guys is i need some ideas to be one-up on the last civic. I have a wide boy kit from SAS, and plan on doing the roll cage on this also. But thats where the ideas stop. NEED IMPUT! ------PLEASEBig Smile

I noticed the engine in your last build up ( although I can't tell what it is) and well, I had this idea for myself to swap in the Tamiya Mugen tuned NSX motor (Mobil 1 kit). I've decided to build my current kit a little tamer than originaly thought so I thought I'd pass it on to you. Besides this motor has some great detail.

Well I actually have the NSX built, I was just going to buy another to part it out. Hey there's some other great details in this kit aswell ( of course there is, it's Tamiya). I was just peaking at my kit after my last post and I'm kind of at a lose for any ideas. Maybe I should ask you for ideas LOL.

No the Civic kit from R/M , uhm the one with a trunk(sorry I'm not familiar with honda's). So far all I've done is glue on the bodykit minus a rear spoiler cause I'm not so in to that. I've added some chrome Enkei rims in the kit rubber and trimmed some mounting points so it sits even lower. I think that's pretty standard so I was hoping to make an impact with the interior which might include a roll cage with a air tank for the suspension hanging on it behind the seats, and the back seat removed to make way for some speakers. This still isn't the impact I want though I don't know it's just not enough and it's been over done, Oh yeah and it's got big Brembo's from another Tamiya kit and the kit motor which is just fine with me mainly because of the chrome parts(they go nice with the rims).

sounds good so far, y dont u shave the dash of everything except the guages, opening the doors gives a BIG impact on the interior. suggestion....open the trunk also, and put the speakers in there, if u put them, the airtank and anything else plus a cage in the interior i believe it will look way to cluttered.

Yeah you could be right about that cluttered, I realized that now that I found the air tank I'm gonna use and tried to eyeball a position for the speakers. I think I'm gonna try to stuff it all in somehow aswell as maybe a TV screen, which I'm thinking of a design for a cool centre console which I can have a screen for the front and one for the rear. P.S. I'll let you know if I screw up or not LOL.

at www.playershydraulics.com they have decal sets of different size tv screens and custom center consoles. if you want to go a lil nutty....shave off the cup holders and arm rest on the stock one. just leave the stick and emergency brake thee. that should look trick. i was going to do it on the civic coupe but i had already glued it in the interior and built the cage around it. i wanted to put everything in the interior i could that would be hard later b4 i built the cage. this civic hatch is going to be just as awesome with the wide body kit and cage...gonna have a more tame paint scheme though.

Sounds cool, well I got the doors off and removed the back seats aswell as shaved the door handles and side trim. There's only one problem, it looks to much like yours in the first pics LOL. I haven't been able to get to the interior yet (still doing final body work)but getting the doors open has given me some confidence to go a little more crazy than I thought. I thinking of scuplturing the dash from the top and swoop it all the way into the back, almost looking like a 94 later mustang dash with the arches on each side.
