Sickening mercury

This is over 4 yrs old. Almost done , then the foil just wasn't right, seems it had too much glue. Then it took a tumble. Mom was here with us and she loved mercurys. Seems she passed and so did this kit. I will buy another one and do it the same, then strip this one for some other build. You can see i filled the rear fenders in.

See some roof damage. No way to fix it. Was going to brush paint a vinyl roof, but that just would not work. The color is purple laquer with clear over coat.

Still makes me sick. But now i can do it even better , next time.

What a shame. it sounds like it had some sentimental value and was a cool looking custom. I'm looking forward to what you can do with your extra four years of skills applied to it.

Fill in the gouge and block it smooth then prime just the spot and mask off the top surfaces and do a two tone, you can save it. I know you can I've got confidence in you.

There is more to the state north of San Francisco other than trees.

Lol thanks for the vote of confidence. O even thought of a vinyl top. But still going to re do it. Sometime in the distant future.

Sshhhhh. The wife thinks i need a new one. And matching that metallic laquer would be a pain. Models and tools, any reason to buy more. thanks for the comments.
