A Picture...Maybe !?
Posted by Diehard on Thursday, April 15, 2004 9:45 AM
OK, here goes. MAYBE I've managed to post my first picture for you folks to make fun of. This is a NASCAR I built for a friend. He's a recently retired Army 1st SGT and that's why the specific details. He was in for 26 years (#26) and that's the 1st SGT rank on the rear quarter panel.

This is NOT my best work but it was a kick because of the need to be creative with the paint scheme.

Be kind.Shy

Thanks, Judge.

The real flaws are in the final paint job (cold weather!) and the inaccuracies of details ( I made a lot of 'em up because the 1st SGT didn't know better) Some of the close/better pics show them all too well, believe me.I drew the strips on my computer and ran them off onto "peel & stick" commercial vinyl pieces. The same stuff that makes the yellow/gold side areas on the car. The large "U.S. ARMY" piece on the rear fender came from a bumper sticker. Really the stuff was too think for realism butit did what I needed.
Thanks again.

It's that kind of adaptation of everyday stuff into the scale model world that makes this great! That is one sweet looking Nascar. The fact that you laid all that out in your mind and came up with that car is way cool.Cool Very nice job.
