Hey Mitchum! How about...

Mitchum,

I know you like the early years and it's obvious that you can build 'em. Have you ever considered "One-Race Cars" that turned out to be important.
How about when, back in '75, Dale Earnhardt ran only his second Cup level event ever for Walter Ballard at Charlotte in a red number 30 Chevy Leguna sponsored (for this race only) by the U.S. Army. One worth remembering!
Or Buddy Baker in a Ford in '76 at Darlington (same sponsor!)
Or Donnie Allison in his Chevy in '78 & '79 at Darlington (Army again!)

I'm working on the Earnhardt car myself but just beginning. When done... I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours!

(Yes, there is a pattern here and I have pictures.)

Anything much past '72 just doesn't interest me much so I hardly ever build in those years. But here's something my brother Gator built for a friend that you might like. He did every car that Earnhardt drove from the little Falcon dirt car at Concord to the Childress cars and it included this little Chevy.

Well, Gator don't mess around either.

I promise that he (Dale) ran under the Army sponsorship in the 30 car. I've even got a couple of pics. There's also a diecast of it in 64th & 24th.

I just hope mine ends up somewhere nearly as nice as Gator's.
