John Force Plastic Kits
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 10:15 AM
I just recently purchased a Revell kit with his 86 Olds Funny Car. Does anyone know if any other more recent kits were ever produced? If yes, where can they be found (other than E-bay)?

I can say with authority there were only two Force plastic kits; the 1/25 Cutlass, and also a 1/32 SnapTite Cutlass. (I have two, sealed! (Not for sale, either)) None since. Knowing those guys I have an idea why; virtually every car they do IS released in die-cast. If they release plastic people can play with the decals, and mess with all their copywrited stuff, et al. Sort of like the problem Ertl has with the SAE build a batmobile (kit 6877) contest way back when. I am quite certain you'll NOT see another kit, and notice you don't get any decals, either....I'm sure they won't license them. If you want a Force car, your starting from scratch, including the Ford FC body (which they hold the exclusive on, too, and won't give to other FC teams). If I were a resin caster, I wouldn't mess with that body, either..

Thanks wildbill426 for that comprehensive update. I was relatively certain that was the case, but wanted to reach out and tap the vast knowledge of the modeling community. I've only posted a few questions and responses thru this forum, and am astounded with the specific pin point information that I get back. Great work guys! BK

Competition Resins has a resin-pop of the new Mustang funny car body ................ very nice piece ................. you can get it through Slixx ................ but the decals are another story, as mentioned -- no licenses SadSad

Don't forget the Slixx decal sheet for the flamed '94 Force car...the year he ran a chevy...even though the body was identical to the oldsmobile...

The decals for the 94 Chevy Lumina car are still available from private stash sources. Don't call Slixx; they sold out years ago! The Revell Oldsmobile kit is close but the back window is shaped differently. If you find a set of these decals and want to replicate the car you will have to either buy a resin body from Comp. Resins or scratchbuild the proper window shape yourself; which by the way, is not very difficult.
