1940 Ford Coupe Dragster!!!
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 8:09 PM
This is the 1940 Ford Coupe by AMT. I built it in 1990 and used Tamyia Acrylic Metalic Blue and Gloss Black. The paint job was applied by a brush.

Thats a sweet looking ride there! If thats the same AMT kit I used for a racer, then you did a great job with what you had to go with.

Hey Urs, Theres nothing like a set of salt-flat hubcaps on an old coupe like that. Great choice.

Very nicely done ....................... that's a great model

I can actually remember seeing cars like that on the dragstrips in the late '50's and early '60's

Thanks for sharing the pics CoolCoolCool

I may have to grow old ....... but I refuse to grow up

Those hub caps are from the Studebaker Avanti kit by AMT. My dad had a set left over from the original release. I used them on something else when I was 8 years old, so when I built this revised version of this Ford, only two of those hub caps were usable.

Nice build !!! You don't see that car as a dragster. Usually a Willy's.

I went to a "gentleman's club" because the sign said they had all the hottest models. I thought it was a hobby shop. Man, was I ever disappointed.

How come I haven't seen this one before? Very nice. Like I say, the 40 Ford coupe looks like a hot rod even if you see it in the stock form.
I'm hopelessly addicted to building models. Not finishing them, just building them.
