Old Reliables

Here are my latest, AMT's '62 Bel Air and '63 Impala SS built as Dave Strickler's/ Bill Jenkins's "Old Reliable" II and IV, successful 409 based super stockers. I  admit the Impala is not accurate for a Z11, should be non-SS bench seat version. This latest AMT '63 Impala repop is a stinker, all it's missing is the four self-tapping screws I remember when first building this kit 57 years ago. The chassis/engine is junk. The body/ interior not too bad. I used the air cleaner that came with the '62 and fashioned some make believe racing headers using the stock 409 exhaust manifolds and some Evergreen Rod. The decals on both were acquired via eBay and appear to be really old Fred Caddy decals. I had to apply them using a mix of Soluset and white glue, otherwise they just fell off after drying.
Neither of these models represent my best efforts but I think they pass the 3-5 foot test. They were both fun builds and will look good parked next to my recent Mopars and Thunderbolts. I'll post more pics if anyone's interested, thanks for taking a look!
