I think I kinda complicated this build but I couldn't stop myself. First thing off the body are the suspension struts course.

Having two seperate pieces here just wasn't gonna work.

The same problem with the chassis plate. The sides of it are supposed to be colored red on the nose and body yet they were two seperate pieces, so I sectioned the chassis and glued it to the body and the nose cone.

Brake ducts were two pieces so it was easier to glue the halves together and paint them as one unit. You can see the nose cone has the bottom plate attached to it. Can you imagine the size of the seam line if I hadn't done that?  In this scale it would have been like the Grand Canyon.

This gives you an idea of the way those ducts were in two. There was also a whole lot of sanding and primer to get all the body panels smooth.

...and here it is. It wasn't a quick build by any stretch but still it was fun to mess with. I like how it turned out.

The decals were excellent in some ways. No carrier film to trim and they adhered super well. I pretty well had to get the placement right the first time. Painted in Testors acrylic red. No clear, just Final Treatment Wax.

Even though that metal axle is in no way a part of the one one car it sure did help stabilize and strenghten the front suspension. I'm glad I left it. I was almost going to omit it and fill in the holes but was too lazy.

That looks great Mike. Those little models scare me;) Imagine doing one of these super detailed.

Would love to see a pic with it next to a larger model to show the scale.

This is my third small model I've built and because I don't super detail them I find they are fun. Detailing them to the nines would definitely scare me.
