1/25 Revell 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona NASCAR

I just purchased this kit. I know it's far from perfect. How much is needed to bring it to a decent build? I plan on scratch building a roll cage, the kit's is a joke and also removing all the molded in arm rests, window cranks and door knobs. I am not going overboard on the suspension. Someone said the kit's NASCAR wheels won't fit the wheel wells? Is this true? Thanks for any information. John

This kit. It's the latest reboxing with all the NASCAR parts, 426 Hemi, NASCAR wheels, roll bar, decals etc. John

Unfortunatly I'm unable to give you any help with building this particular kit ,so good luck there..

There is one thing I 'THINK' I remember with the Petty '64 Belvedere ( JoHan?) kit I built was you could reverse the interior side panels ( L to R ) from stock to race cage friendly .

I don't know if you could try that with the daytona & fill the sunken sections from the handles??

BTW , the Petty car is now a blown 426ci late 60's drag spec Non A/FX . Cos I can ! Whistling

I've seen kits like this finished and the wheels and tires seemed to fit well on those. I'm not sure about the info you recieved about ill fitting wheels. Just build it and make modifications to make them fit. You dont have to follow the directions to a T. Thats what building Nascar racers is all about. The stock stance and wheel placement under the fenders from a kit is almost never correct.

Thanks, here are the stock tires with red lines compared to the NASCAR tires. They are approximately the same size, the NASCAR tires may be 1/2 mm wider but not all that much. I can't see what he was talking about, are the stock tires that close of a fit?---John

I'm sure they will fit just fine.
