Italeri Ford Escort RS 1800 MK2

The kit..............

Left over ESCI Ford Escort MK2 decals..........

The finished product, nice kit, good fit, no flash on sprues. I've added Dunlop tyre decals that weren't on the original vehicle...............

The suspension was already low to depict a tarmac stage car with slick tyres.

One of these days I would like to build an Italeri kit. Of course it will probably be the Lancia.  I like how yours turned out. All the decals are good to work with?

Feelings are like scents: The more they are analyzed, the worse they smell.

Yes justmike, As I think I said the kit decals and these from the ESCI kit of 1992 are good. These decals though had to have two coats of clear gloss to ensure they came off the backing and onto the model without any hiccups.

I have a Lancia 037 kit on the shelf, I've see tomorrow which manufacturer it came from.

AH one thing that's come to mind, the car is left-hand drive as most rally cars are, but the window wipers are right hand drive, because when you are fitting them the rubber wiper is upermost which should be the other way up.

I've been wanting to see this one since you posted it, and finally got the chance. It's a good looking build, Pat. I quite like the rear drive Escorts, and you have done this one justice.

Is the Italeri kit a re-box of the old Esci kit?

Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

Thanks Bainford. Yes I understand it could well be a re-box of the ESCI kit.

These are the two bodyshells. You note that the clear ESCI kit shell has wider, more open sided arches than the later white Italeri shell in the background.

Nice job on your little Escort, Patrick, she looks a serious rally car.  Cheers.
