1966 nova on the 1955 Ford chassis?
Posted by modeller123 on Friday, March 30, 2018 8:56 PM

I bought an AMT 1966 nova pro street kit and a revell 1955 jukebox ford kit and I want to put the  jukebox chassis under the 66 nova body I  have heard of this being done before so I was hoping that some might be able to help me. First off I need to make the floorboard longer and I was wondering if I should cut across the middle of the floorboard and then add a section there or should I cut at the firewall? Second should I modify the stock roll cage  or should I make my own  if I do have to make my own is there any pieces from the jukebox roll cage I can use?

I must have made around a 100 66 Novas, using the cage/chassis,and other parts, from the 55Jukebox pro mod,or the Charles Carpenter, and the 57 Chevy Vandagriff (Spelling) pro mods..Each time I had to modify the cage to fit well.First the cage it self can be a pain to line everything up.What you are going to have to do first,is make the pillars of the cage, that would attach to the dashboard,longer..There to low,and it looks wrong. You might have to cut a part of the back of the chassis, behind the tubs, but sometimes they will fit with no cutting. The tubs line up pretty well.So it can easily be done, but like I said,it will take some modifying. And once you get the cage/chassis to fit really well, the car looks great.Good luck.Post some pics.

Thanks promod nova for the tips about the cage. but now I’m confused because I have the firewal lined up and the wheel tubs sit way To far forward as you can see in the pics and in your post you said that “the tubs line up pretty well” so I’m not to sure what you meant by that
