Alfa Romeo 'Alfetta' 1950
Posted by PatrickW on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 10:02 AM

There are a number of kits that depict the 1950's Alfa's and this is the SMER version of the 'Alfetta'................

Although the kit has been on my shelves for a few years and the decals have 'yellowed' I still used them for a period effect.

This is about the only plastic kit ever made of this car. I agree it was originally a Merit kit. I built it from a Smer issue some years ago, after looking at it for almost 20 years in my stash.

You've done a fine job on it, looks good.

Nice work Patrick. I have been curious about SMER (and Merit) kits, but have never owned/built one. Yours has turned out very well. A wonderful old race car. Nicely done.

Thanks Trevor. It is a small kit (not many parts) but I put two coats of Auto Acrylic grey primer, two coats flat white and three coats of Tamiya Bright Red. Didn't need any clear gloss.

Excellent job, Patrick. That straight 8 is a thing of beauty. I wish I could hear what it sounds like at full song.

Thanks texwardfan, yes the sound of these in crazy but think at Silverstone there may be thirty or more of a similar type on the grid as well!
