Telefonica Champ car done. One more to go

I didn't bother with a WIP on this one. I have to admit that my attempts to replicate the weird color on this car didn't turn out as I had hoped. Still, once all the decals are on and its in the case only I will ever really know or notice all the flaws, so I will live with it.

That nose cone is a glaring screw up but no way could I handle the thought of stripping the whole car and starting over. These decals were very thick and took a long long time to semi react with any decal softener that I used, which turned out to be a real pain on the rear wing.

Of course because I decided to do a road course version of the car instead of the speedway version I do have myself to blame for all the difficulties I encountered with the decals on the rear wing. One thing about the decals being thick is that the white stayed white. No color from underneath bled through at all.So now its on to the last one in this collection.

Looks pretty good to me.  Looks like a lot of work and from where I sit, more went right than wrong.  I say "Pat yourself on the back."  Thumbs up, sir.Yes

Just keep picking away at it...

Man Mike...this really looks good. Don't notice anything wrong from the pics. Infact...it looks ready to hit the track and do some serious business....

Thanks guys. I plan on doing a better job on my last one in this series. Its the Visteon Roberto Moreno car with decals by Indycals. I started painting parts last night for it.

Next on the bench:  Another 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, 1958 Chevy Impala, 1987 Buick GNX, 1950 Chevy Pick-up, Indy Reynard, 1965 Corvette, probably not in this order.

I gotta admit that open-wheelers on an oval is a breathtaking, heart-stopping type of race that I thoroughly enjoy. Can't wait for the new season!

At this point no. I don't know why I haven't been dinged yet by them for that amount but I am paying about 4 bucks a month. That amount I can afford and it makes for a speedier upload. When it was free it was taking forever to upload a picture and the adds getting in the way on the screen were driving me crazy. Hopefully I have slipped through the cracks.   Hmmmm. You don't work for them, do you???   aauuugghhh!! if you doZip it!

Your not the only one who has slipped through the cracks. I guess the fact that you were already paying the 4 bucks kept you off the list of people they cut off including me. I'm glad because I found a better free service.

Hi Wareagle. Do you mean a group photo on this thread or do you want individual pics of the aftermarket builds on this thread? Thats neat that you want to do all of them. I sure enjoy looking at my collection.
