Cartoon Willys Gasser

Hello All,

This is the Polar lights Ohio George 33 Willys gasser.  I got in in the bargain bin at Hobby Lobby for $4 a couple of years ago.  It was an easy build and contributed to my 2018 momentum.  Yea!  Here's what you get in the box.

They give you a choice of glass.  I chose the tinted one.

Serious launch.

My bit to recreate the box art was to scuff the tires.

I was wondering how to recreate the box art, but since it was 3 AM, I went to sleep.  When I awoke I saw Patrick Ws Snap Draggin model, and that it truly how it's done.  It's fantastic.  If you haven't seen it, please find it.

This is the decal sheet supplied with the kit.  I'm not going to use it and will send it to anyone who would like it.  Just PM me.

Thanks for looking,

Mark

Brilliant, I finished my chassis, exhaust, side moulding/ vents, radiator grill and headlight rims with a Molotow chrome pen before putting the body on.

Excellent looking Willys ! I highly recommend the molotows , just take it easy pushing down the tip , to release the paint .... I ended up like the cop from Terminator 2 !!Indifferent There's a thread on here about refils . I use a thin brush & clean it with celulose , white spirit doesn't help one bit , trust me !  Zip it!

Cool looking Willys caricature. These are fun little builds. Monogram had some similar kits in the 70s. I had the Screamin' Vette back than and have been looking for the Boss Mustang (or was Boss Hoss?) for a few years.

As for Molotow... get one. They are easy to use and the results are incredible. It cleans up well with lacquer thinner.
