Got the interior part done.

Screen rubbers gone and the drivers door glued in place.

Kit steelies done...

The rather nice brake drums.

The injected engine - looks more like a horn recovered from the Titanic!!!

A bash plate on the drivers side.

That's a nice lot of cars you've built. Great insight & info to all. Do you have a purpose or end goal? Maybe your own Demo Derby squad? l'm all in on this/ these projects.

No Mark,I will fit the doors for driver protection.

Ok.  Question.  In that type of racing, do the doors even function?, or are they welded shut like the Dukes of Hazzard.  What is the main ingress/egress of the vehicle?  I would imagine the doors would take a beating and not be able to work.

Also, I had forgotten that the Merc had the tube chassis.  Cool.  So you are not as enamored with the kit as you once were?  What are the issues?

Keep up the good work.

Well...The doors are normally bolted together and modern bangers have a THICK steel plate running from A  to B/C pillar.

The usual way in/out is through the front screen apature.

The kit is ok I guess, just being spoilt with the Tamiya version..

Cool.  I don't imagine that the door would be of much use for a banger.  Are you planning to do a cage and leave them off?

Got the front suspension done.

Fitted.

The inline 6 pot..

Rear suspension in place.

And of course the classical gullwing doors.

I first built this kit when I was 14 and thought it was the dogs danglies, now of course my view is somewhat different!
