MK1 Mini cooper 'S'
Posted by mini man on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 11:03 AM

In the real world I have owned 11 Mini's from mk1s through to vans the last one was a pocket rocket with  bored and stroked 1275cc up to 1425cc m.g. metro head,hi lift cam,lcb manifold with an H.I.F.44 carb !! it WENT!!

so back to the kit.

It is sprayed in burgandy - saw a tired mk2 years ago in this colour and always liked it.

Got a few dust bunnies to rub down though...

Got the Minilights done in alloy, there is a tamiya pot here for scale..

Will build most anything, love American cars muscle etc.Britishvehicles are a buzz too, trucks are great - want to do a jet truck, building parts up...

Nigel.

I love these kits. Built a dozen or so over the years, next one will be a replica of my uncles 63 deluxe. I'll be watching this with interest

Not to one up you but I have built about 30 of these over the years.got my first one in '84 and was driving a mk2 traveller at the time.

This one will be a 'clubmans' type rally car hence the m&s tyres and halda type dash,it will have a roll bar too- nothing too fancy however...Sigh

Looking good, Nigel. I love the assembled engine from this kit. In the model car world it's about the cutest thing going.

I don't think knew Revell did a kit of this car. Is it a decent kit?

Trevor I am biased and like the Tamiya kit,the revell one may be fine - building it will tell!

cheers guys.

Got the engine in,just radiator and top hose to do.

The steering column/wheel and roll bar are in too.

The subframes are in complete with remote gear change and exhaust.

They are pretty much identical. The Revell kit has options for right/left hand drive.
