Anybody wanna run for "pinks"?

How about a ten lap shoot out, winner take all? Before you unload your "jelly bean" stock car just remember that this one has 430 cubic inches of Hot Rod Lincoln under the hood and I don't subscribe to the belief that "rubbin' is racin''. Where I come from rubbin' is only the beginning. Oh, did I mention that we'll be running on that red clay oval? "Put on a good show, drive DIRTY!" LOL

Guys, that's all well and good but you guys with them little bitty lightweight cars missed the HUGE chrome front bumper. And that Hemi doesn't scare me 'cause there ain't NO way you're gettin' all that power on the ground on dirt. I've auctually seen those Hemis run on dirt and I ain't worried. LOL

Hey vinnie, you might get some argument on that from the people in those fast Chevies and Pontiacs that chased Beachamp's 430 cubic inch '59 T-bird all day at Daytona in the first 500. And don't say it wasn't "stock" because it's a fact that Big Bill France said it was. About as stock as those "salvage" T-birds ol' Ralph put'em in. LOL

Not many cars were banned by Nascar for going too fast, however, the 1957 Oldsmobile with the J-2 option is one of these. We're talking tri carbs. Lee Petty set a new record for this car before they outlawed it for going too fast. So I'll have one, if you please!

"To fast " for the Olds was probably a little bit slower than "to fast" for the wing cars.BUT,the Olds has a lot af character.

Too bad that the '57 Olds J-2 never got the chance to go against the Superbirds. I doubt if Nascar would sanction something like that, even today, but it would have been glorious!
