Tamiya 1/12 M23 James Hunt EJan Conversion
Posted by nickyfzr on Tuesday, December 04, 2018 2:13 PM

Well now that I finished Niki Laudas 1975 312T it looks so lonely without James Hunts 1976 McLaren. This will be my most challenging build yet. I've gradually moved the bar from when I did my first large scale detailed build of the Tamiya 1/12 scale FW14B to include more detail on each build. I will be using the 1974 M23 Tamiya kit with the photo etched set and the EJan 1976 Japanese Grand Prix conversion kit. Checking all the parts and test fitting for now.

G'day nickyfzr.  How are you progressing with this?  Your 312 was superb and I'll be following you on this build.  Cheers.

Hello Steve

There was a pause on this build. I was trying to find some reference material online for free but wasn't having much luck so I had to splurge for a book. I just received it so pictures will be forthcoming.

I'm also really liking this build Nicky. Like Steve said...your 312 was just awesome and this build will be right there wth it. Looking forward to your next update for sure....

This is the book I purchased. $22.22 with free shipping on ebay. Exactly what I was looking for. This is a great book. I highly recommend it to anyone building any version of the McLaren M23. Covers all versions from 1973 onward.

Man...I love it. I wonder if there's a Penske PC-7 book out there? I'll have to go look and see. I think I have to get this book also. I'm wanting to build J.Hunts M-23 also... Thanks for the Heads up on this book and where you got it.
