Skoda Fabia WRC S2000

This is the Belkits version of this WRC rallycar. A very detailed kit with PE parts and Skoda factory decals. One problem was the top of the rollcage being twisted, so fit the sides onto the interior tub, and cut the cage behind the first top crossmember allowing the rear half to be sanded to fit, OK done. The rest is straightforward.

I have various clearcoats from three makers, dull/clear and a new one, pearl clear, so I tried it on this build after laying up most of the bodyshell decals. These were Sebastien Ogier's first drive with the VW Group, supporting 'Wings for Life'.

The clearcoat with sparkle..............

There are in the kit bumper mounted night lamps, but they cover decals so I left them off.

Thanks Spencer Mopar Fan. Yes Rallycross.... my two sons and I started going to Slough, Swindon, Brands Hatch and that was around 30 years ago! They had Ford RS200's( Pat Doran that owns Lydden Hill circuit still has one or was it two),Porsche engined Beetles ( I think that was John Button, Jensens dad) and 911's plus the short Audi Quattro Sport, (owned and run by a Greek shipping and importing millionaire) even then chucking out 600bhp!

I watch both British and World series on the TV but the Global series that is only in the USA, we can't get feed or is it on youtube? Anyway very interesting. Plus I suggested to the management at Silverstone where I was a marshall for nearly 30 years, about 25 years ago they should run rallycross, so the circuit has now been built there (5 miles from here) to start next year!!
