Tough looking Chev, the all-black theme is great.  I've always liked the styling of the chrome side trim on 61's, you've removed it but left a hint of it in the bodywork, and it is cool.  Can you give us some interior and engine photos please?  Cheers

That's an amazing finish! The customization you did on the model is great also. If could customize one of those cars in real life, would be pretty much like this.

What about the windscreen and back window? Did you paint a black frame as on newer cars?

Nah, but I did use a black sharpie around the back window and also on all of the outer egde's of the windows. Also done the outer egde of the headlight lense's.

Learnt that from Bob Downie.

Very impressive paint work. I think gloss  black is the most difficult shade to pull off on any auto model project - any imperfections seem like they are magnified 2X compared to other colors. I would love to read more details about your paint technique and materials.

The 61-62 bubble-top chevies are among the most beautiful that came out of the Bill Mitchell years at GM. This 61 just looks so good and right lowered. I tend to build stock and drag cars mostly but I have an AMT 62 Bel Air that I may have to take a crack at doing as an early 60's period Whittier Blvd. cruiser...
