Revell '32 Ford 5 window coupe firewall
Posted by Manifoldhead on Thursday, May 28, 2020 5:07 PM

Hi All,

I was dry fitting the firewall on my Revell 2 n 1 Ford five window coupe kit and it seems like the locating tabs are too close to the sides to fit into the shape of the body. I have included pictures and marked the tabs with a sharpie.

It looks like the problem it easily fixed by shaving part of the tabs off, but I know this kit has been around a while in many different iterations. I was wondering if any of you had this same problem or am I missing something?

Here are some pics of the kit I am using and of the problem.

Thanks!

I don't have the firewall to look at with my 5w body, but does the body want to spread and be held open by the tabs?  Look at the reveal on the front both ways, this may help.  Sorry I couldn't answer definitively, perhaps someone else will chime in.

Thanks Jeff, but I thought about that, but the body doesn't seem to work that way.
