Old Ford Model, Potential Hot Rod
Posted by Kadin T. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 2:36 PM

Back in mid-July, my I picked up an old model car from a yard sale my church was having. The exterior was in rough shape, missing parts and such, but the interior was all but gone. The dash, gear stick, front seat and steering column, no wheel, were all that was left. I did a little research on it, and found out that I had quite a find. It's an old Hubley Toys '31 Ford Model A Victoria Coupe. It's from 1964 according to the model number (4866-64). I'm still restoring it, and the welding shop at school has been a great resource for fabricating things like the hood. What I can't build by hand I'll either buy or 3D print at the library. I'm thinking about doing a hot-rod job on it, replacing the tiny little inline 4 that's in it now with a V8 Roush big block I've had for a while. I'm still considering, but I think I'll just keep it mostly stock with a little customization here and there, like an open hood and racing steering wheel. I'm completely open to any suggestions, so please give me some. If you need pics, I can supply. THX :)

First of all..Welcome to the scale auto mag. site. It sounds like you are building this the way the fullsize hotrodders do. It sounds really cool. I know everyone is waiting to see pics of where you are and what you are doing as you go along. That might even help others to give you ideas and a helping hand. Welcome Richard
