A quick teaser pic.
I think dumping the skirts and going with the Torque Thrusts gave it a very muscular look.
Steve
I'm amazed at how the clear coats brought out the color of this paint!!
5 coats of clear and ready for polish.
Before
After
Still making slow progress on this project.
Took me a good portion of the day to detail the firewall.
This is where I started.
This is where I ended up.
Vinyl top completed.
Just a few more teaser pics now that the paint is fully polished, the vinyl top is complete and some of the trim is foiled.
Most of the interior foiled today.
Really like watching your builds Steve.
I haven't posted much progress lately, so here are a few pics.
Dashboard finished.
The back end appeared as if it could stand to be raised a bit, so some scratch made shackles were made.
Carpet was done on the seat backs, door panels, console and floor.
I didn't like the "track" of the rear wheels, so the rear end was removed and extensions were made to move the rear wheels out slightly.
Likewise, raising the rear suspension made it necessary to make the shocks longer.
The scratch built arm rests were added.
Followed by the arm rest pads.
Finally window cranks, making the door panels nearly complete.
Only some small detail painting and door lock buttons are still required.
Before.
After.
Really getting down to the finish line now, Steve. Love the extra care you put into your interiors. My shocks look much like yours. I like the lower tube to be a nice snug fit in the upper tube so I can adjust the length as I make changes to suspension height. Your shackles look great! Thanks for the detail photos!
chucky
I believe that the bottom side of the chassis is more or less done.
I think I finally have the stance dialed in to where I wanted it.
Thanks Chucky!
I'm getting pretty close on the chassis, interior and body.
Haven't even started the engine yet!
Interior is finished.
More.
Another outstanding build! Scale Auto have you called him yet for a magazine article?
Time to start making tiny engine parts.
Oil filler cap.
Vacuum line grommet.
Fuel filters
Alternator bracket.
Throttle linkage pivot.
Fuel line splitter.
Looking really sharp!
A quick mock up of the intake, and then I tossed together a quick dip stick.

Good question. It would be great to see Steve's models and building tips in print. (My opinion only.....) TIM
A couple more small details.
I want to be able to display the engine with the air cleaners on or off to reveal the wonderful Fireball carbs, so I needed to add the air cleaner bolts to the carbs.
Then a radiator cap was in order.
Next I added the radiator overflow tube.
This battery had no clamp detail, only the posts.
Recreating battery clamps will definitely test your eyes!
Pretty much got all of the engine parts painted today, except for the orange on the block, heads, etc.
I thought these Fireball carbs couldn't look any better........and then I painted them!
Can't wait to see how they'll look after a little detailing and a wash!
