Hawk Sandpiper

I bought this on ebay UK about 6 or so months ago. The date of the kit is 1969 so the decals (although I coated them in two layers of gloss clear) would not release from the paper backing except the footprints that I've put on the roof!

I have found another sheet of decals called 'Flower Power', so used those.

Another great one from the hobby’s best builder of beach buggies! I really dig this kit from the House of Hawk. Yet … probably unfairly … I have always considered it “the poor man’s” version of AMT’s Surf Woody.  Oh yeah, IMHO the wood elements on the side panels are so much better than the psycho zebra stripes. Thanks for posting and thanks for the fine photography.

Both this and the royal rail are so funky! They must add a splash of pizzazz to your collection.

Feelings are like scents: The more they are analyzed, the worse they smell.

Thanks guys, yes it does add futher colour to the display case! I just wish that I'd had known about these in the day and bought and built them then, although they are still interesting builds now. I was lucky to find this one at a reasonable price, there's one on ebay here in the UK at present at £165 'Buy it Now'!
