'53 Chevy

When I learned that Modelhaus was closing I ordered 2 of their '50 Buick grilles for my stash. I recently cast some 22" stealies and I have been wanting to try a flat paint job with a flaked candy roof. All that came together in this '53 Chevy Bel Air.

Nice!!! That grille scares me 1/1 it has to weight a ton, and would destroy anything that gets in its way. Stealies are awesome, would like a close up of the flake job :)

Very nice.  That paint combination is really great.  I grew up in the 50's (yes I am old). When I was about 10 I was riding my bike down a hill when the car behind me honked. I panicked went into the oncoming traffic and hit a 53 Chevy head on. I flew into the windshield and wound up on the pavement behind the car. My front wheel, fork, frame and handle bars were toast the Chevy had barely a scratch. Good thing I was young.

Wow, I'm glad you're okay.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Sorry, no close ups of the top, I tried, but I just couldn't get the flakes to come through the camera.

Not a fan of the 53 Chevy but your treatment with the flat paint, steelies, and grill looks great! Nice work! Cool Thumbs Up

If you cannot have a good time, what kinda time can you have? JR
