29 Ford Rat Rod P/U 12/29 update
Posted by Johnt on Sunday, December 10, 2017 2:07 PM

I started this a few days ago. I'm planning a rat rod that is being driven as the owner slowly makes it nicer. The paint will stay primer, but the motor will be the two carb flat head four that comes with the kit.

I had to do some work to lower the rear end since it was way too high,so it's lower now.

Very nice so far . I've just brought some etched plaques of "the ol' car clubs" Like Road Knights , The Sidewinders etc . Two washes of black & a gentle wipe , Perfect .(Mr.Model MM2035)

These tall cab A's never seem to look right with the track nose option though .... Awww now I want another one (....track-A & a four banger ...)

Thanks Spencer. I got a little more work done, plus I've been doing some the hinged pieces.

How hot cam you put in the block?

Nice to see fourbangers built as always.

I found the hard top doors were warped, so while I clipped them to the cab I played around with the roadser body.

I was pleased to see that after a few days of soaking the doors and cab in hot water the doors fit. I also found a neat weathering effect on the cab. I painted over the primer with dull coat to stop scuffing the cab as I handled it and this gave me a nice (I think) sunbleached look to the cab. I may do this to the hood and bed, and leave the fenders I nhe fresher looking primer because every pay day the owner gets a couple of cans of priner. I'll lose the decal on the bed floor that way, but I have some real wood to make a bed floor and maybe try making it look well used. I like the hard top more than the roadser so I'm happy this worked.

Feel free to give me feed back on this please.
