AMT 62 Corvette Hardtop/Convertible Model
Posted by gasser nut on Saturday, November 25, 2017 7:47 AM

I am just just completing the engine assembly on this build and I have a question. After installing the pulley assembly, I noticed that the generator sits well above the engine hanging in the air by it's self with no bracket to support it? The instructions/parts do not reference a bracket.

I know that this is not a real detailed model, but anyone looking at the engine "as built would say, "whats up with the generator? But maybe, this is just the low detail build? I would appreciate any comments.

Thank You...

A lot of kits have a genrator/alternator hangin' from the belt assembly. Model Car Garage and or Detail Master has photo-etched brackets that you can use to correct this blunder.

You can also make one from a strip of plastic or aluminum soda can. It's not as good as the PE detail, but for something to bridge the huge gap on some kits, it works fine
