Revell 1930 Ford Model A 2 'n 1

A couple days ago I was told that this kit is no longer available and that the molds were destroyed. I was able to find this kit online Friday and it was just delivered today.

Anyone hear about this kit no longer available?

What I heard was that the molds were damaged in China. They need time to repair them for future releases of the kit. I don't know if that's true or not, and no mention about how long the repairs will take. Hope this helps.

You mean the recently released Model A coupe? Man that would be the worlds shortest lasting model if so...would be a real shame to have that destroyed already.

Lets hope it was just damaged (if at all) and can be repaired quickly, I personally need to buy one or two of them before they disappear

Stang, you were told by whom? Someone on this forum? A retailer in a brick & mortar store? A friend? It could be an unsubstantiated rumor.

Why doesn't someone just ask Revell? I cked out spotlight hobbies and no one has posted anything about this.

To Rustyroach

I was told by Model Roundup when I called to see if they still had them in stock. He also said that they need time to remake the molds and hopefully the first part of 2017 they will become available again.

The on line sales for Revell shows both the coupe and roadster as being discontinued. But from posts from a fairly reliable source on that other forum the molds were indeed damaged and they plan on repairing them as soon as possible. Don't hold your breath about getting the coupe body top done differently. Since BOTH kits are out of production it would be my opinion that the damaged molds are ones that are for the shared pieces and not for anything that is specific for for one or the other other of the kits.

Look at it this way, we can now get excited all over again when the Model A's hit the market again.

I Emailed Revell and the response I got is that they are going to try to re-release it as soon as they can but no promises. The main reason I wrote to the is because of the idiots that are selling them on Ebay for from 125.00 to 600.00.It's people like that who drive people away from the hobby and they probably don't even buildjust buy to rape the true builders, they are a disgrace!!!!!

The sellers aren't the idiots, the buyers, if any, are.
