'40 Ford Tudor Street Rod
Posted by mrmike on Friday, January 16, 2015 7:37 PM

This is my '40 Ford Tudor Street Rod built from the AMT '39/'40 Ford Tudor Custom Tudor Sedan kit that I bought at an auction of a deceased Classic Plastic Model Club member collection of kits.  The body is painted with Testors Lime Ice One Coat Lacquer with Model Master Acryl Leather interior.  Built mostly out of box with the addition of an exhaust system from my parts box.

I am the NUT for "40 Fords, ever since the first model of one came out by AMT in 1960. You hit the bullseyer on this one with a killer appearance!!!  Not only did you make it look great overall, by selection of color and design, you actually did those little refinements like filling in the bumper brackets to smooth out the grille and tail areas. Keep up the good work!!

Thank you guys!

Ken, I'm glad you like the little refinements that I added to my Tudor.  I thought they those refinements would be essential for this to look just right.

After some discussion about my '40 Ford Tudor, I decided to update the photo links and repost this build.

Hi Mike,

I had forgotten about this build but now after seeing I do remember it and that Barbara commented on how nicely you repaired the underside after the battery box removal. I really like this and you know, if it's a '40 Ford, I'm in "love".

Thank you Spencer and Barry!

Barry, I'm glad you remembered my '40 Tudor as it is one of two '40s that I have in my collection.  I was surprised when Barbara had commented on the work I did on the removal of the battery box and how she liked it.  Compliments about my work, whether it is good or bad helps give me more encouragement to try and do a better job.  In the past, I just build and display them.  Now I want to do better and compliments and advice from you, Barbara, Kenny, and others are helping to get myself to that goal!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the compliments regarding my compliments. Bring that "other" '40 to my house on the 16th if you will. Have I ever seen that one?

I'm not sure if you have seen that other '40.  You might have.  I'll try to remember to bring it.
