Custom 1956 Ford Pickup
Posted by maniacalmodeler on Sunday, September 08, 2019 11:20 AM

It's been a little while since I've posted anything. But I'm going to try to be around here more often! This is the Foose FD-100 Pickup by Revell. It's mostly box stock except for the wheels, some aftermarket decals on the tailgate, and real wood for the bed. The tires are Modelhaus and the rims are from the AMT '51 Fleetline kit. The white parts were painted with Tamiya Racing White and the body was painted Dupli-Color Light Metallic Blue. This was a very easy build. My gripes with this kit are the Foose logos and I would rather have had the rear fenders separate pieces from the bed sides instead of molded as one piece. Thanks for looking!

Excellent work. Has a mild custom look it, very underrated and under the radar will until you dig into the gas pedal.

Great looking truck. I like stock and mild customs.

Nice clean build.  Looks like the many custom trucks you see at local cruise-ins.  Definitely not a trailer queen, but a driver.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

Thank you, hachirokami, PlasticCrafts, and TarheelRick! I was going for a mild custom look. The kit really did all the hard work for me! I've wanted to build a '56 Ford pickup for quite some time and with the release of the Revell kit it made it that much easier. I have an older release '56 Ford pickup that is currently under construction but it will be a while before its actually finished. But if I ever get it finished I'll be sure to post it here!

Nice color combo. It's good to have someone else do the custom for a change, right?" A real time-saver. Very smooth, subtle appearance on this one. Thumbs Up

Thanks, chucky! Although I like to do the customizing myself, it was pretty nice not having to modify so many pieces to get the look I want!
