This build all started around 3 months ago for a kid named Jonathan. He received this kit for a birthday gift and after coming over to the house, asked me to build it. The kit is an old mold and is quite crude in quality but I think I managed to work some of the bugs out of it anyways. I didn't do a whole lot of research on this car and the avid enthusiast will be able to pick up on that pretty quick but still I'm pretty happy with the turn out. I've just about perfected my painting method on autos and I got ALOT of practice with bare metal foil.

This is what I was going for:

Looks great, Joe! I'd say you got the painting and foil down! Now that he sees what it can look like, maybe he'll be tempted to try a snap-kit.Thumbs Up

Great build and a nice amount of detailing on the 409.  In that side-on photo she looks beautiful.  Are those wheels in the kit?  Cheers

Thanks  60 Buick, Barry, Chucky, Steve and scalpeter.

Steve: Those are not the OOB wheels. Those are resin parts that were donated off of the forums. Engine was donated from a Revell kit as well as the AMT engine was terrible.

Chucky: Hopefully he'll take off from here.

scalepeter:  I used Testors One Coat Lacquer "Mythical Maroon" , decanted and shot through a Badger 350 airbrush.

Really great work Joe.  I don't think you will have any complaints.  Like you said, he should be inspired to get his own build going.  Really ace work sir!!

Just keep picking away at it...

Beautiful job. Great color, like the wheels/wide whites.
