Baldwin-Motion corvette question
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 19, 2004 7:55 AM
Does anyone have an info on the real 1:1 scale car. The revell car is inaccurate. The main question I have is concerning the tires and wheels. I've read that the BW version used some sort of Mickey Thompson "cheater" slicks or something equivalent back in the early '70's. If I am right I need to flare the rear wheel wells out more but I need the tire before I can do that for proper fitting. Also I've heard the front tires you can use "blue streaks". Does anyone know where I can get these tires from? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chad

Hey,I just built one.I'm entering it tomorrow in Irving Texas at the Texas Showdown. The kit IS wrong.I had to add fender flares and convert the car to a fastback.I went to Motion Performance.com,and I built the first 1969 car that Joel Rosen built. On that sight there are many pictures and info on the car.If you have any more questions,E-Mail me and let me know.Fred Cady and R&D Unique sell decals.I painted my stripes on.Pay close attention to the small "Baldwin-Motion" only options.Good luck.By the way,I'll get some pictures of mine and post them.
