Revell 1968 triple green Dodge Charger WIP - FiNiShEd

It seems hard to believe such beautiful cars were everywhere in the 60´s. Now mostly in our shelves..

Green top was a little darkened guze sangyo FS 34079, dark greeen SEA camouflage (for Vietnam aircraft modellers). The medium green met  was lacquer custom mixed.

I´m researching the dark green interior and it seems gunze IJA green (for WW II japanese buffs) is pretty close.

After painting the interior parts mixed Floquil dark green and IJA green in slightly different shades for carpet, seats and dash, it was time for the tedious and time consuming task of masking the seats in order to paint the green/yellow inserts (mix of aircraft interior  green and aircraft yellow zinc chromate). Afterwards a coat of clear for  sealing the touch up corrections after the inevitable bleeding through. Later I'll spray some coats of semi gloss coat to tone down the gloss.

Well, it took so long to update because I work on several projects at the same time.
Just a dry fit of the wheels checking for stance. Had to cut and relocate wheels axle pins front and rear; originally it would be off center on wheel wells and too tall on the front and too outside on the rear..

I'm really digging the colours on this one. Nice work on the seat patterns, too. Looking good.

Small details remain here and there and will call it a day. I still intend to replace the wheels with full hubcaps from Fireball resin parts.

That is a real beauty.  Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.  Great build.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

Thanks, hobbymates! I have used a 3M self -adhesive corrugated tape for vinyl, and strips of Evergreen styrene as vinyl seams and trim moldings. Courtesy of fantastic Mr Cruz tips and articles!
