1968 Chevelle SS 396 WIP - Finished!
Posted by modelcarjr on Friday, June 28, 2019 11:00 AM

I started this one while I was completing the 65 Chevelle. I painted it Tamiya Light Blue Metallic and Tamiya Semi-gloss Black along the rocker panels. I have since rubbed out and foiled the body. So now, I have to separate all the other parts into colors and get the parts painted. Not sure what color the interior will be yet. Thanks for looking! Cool

Nice color!,i have one coming for my birthday next week,my color choice i'm thinking is Meridian turquoise. For your interior,i think a black/white interior would really work.

Thanks, Prowler! Engine is done. Not sure the inline filter for the gas line is good (more of a Ford look) but its wired and plumbed a bit and I'll add heater hoses later. Thanks for looking! Cool

Engine looks great, fuel filter is a bit long but could be worse.

Thanks, McLovin and Prowler! I appreciate your comments! Prowler, I agree with your comment but not going to change it now. Still trying to figure out how to simulate a glass bowl filter but haven't figured it out yet!

Engine is installed, chassis is done and interior is finished! I may not get any more done for a week as vacation time is here. Be back in a week.

Looks great. I have used resistors, you can get them at electronics supply stores. Here are a couple  I did.

Thanks, Mike, SFD and Mclovin! I appreciate your comments! MrMike, must be a glitch in the website at the time you viewed it as the pictures are there this morning!

I happy to report that the 68 Chevelle took 2nd place in Factory Stock. It was a very well attended contest with modelers coming from all around Texas and Louisiana. One contestant flew in from California! Tables were full! Also took a second with the 68 Rislone Special Indy Car I built a few months ago. Thanks for looking! Cool
