1967 Ford Shelby GT350
Posted by mrmike on Monday, May 6, 2019 11:11 AM

This Shelby has been sitting on the shelf just covered in dust and dirt and screaming for a good cleaning and a rebuild.  I also had to search for the engine that I removed for another project and never used it.  After a couple of days of cleaning and rebuilding, I finished the GT350 this morning.  The paint was cleaned and polished, the engine was reinstalled, and I replaced the kit wheels with the optional wheels from the AMT' 66 Mustang since they are close to the '68 Shelby wheels that I have been viewing lately.  I treated the wheels to a good coating of Model Master Acryl Semi-Gloss Clear to knock down some of the shine from the chrome.

Hi Mike,

Looks good and I think here is another "Show & Tell" subject for our meeting on Saturday.

See you then,

Barry

Thanks Barry!  I think you may be correct as I am planning to bring the GT350 for "Show & Tell".  Plus, a few others!

Very nice. I made one the same color.  It's too bad the kit did not include a decal for Cobra on the gas cap.

Thank you 72mustang!  IIRC, I was going to use the center stripes and they were a bit too translucent over the dark blue paint, so I left them off.  I kind of like it better now without the center stripes.

Mighty nice looking Shelby, but that is a redundant statement.  You dis some really nice work on this one.
