Monogram 1987 GTA
Posted by Faust on Friday, March 08, 2019 8:03 PM

Hey guys!

I was inspired with that '89 GTA rebuild that Mike's working on, and I  thought I'd share my take on the '87 GTA, which is basically the same kit, but with the V8 engine. I have the '89 with the Turbo Six too, but haven't built it yet.

Growing up I always wanted one of these, but never got one. I'm more than pleased with my loyal '80 Turbo T/A, and I don't have room for a second car. So, I went the way we all do, and made a model of what I'd always wanted!

This is exactly the car as I would have bought it, if I had had the chance!

The link below has a full build article with more pictures!

That is a sharp looking GTA!  You did a great job on it!

Nice car, and paint and detail are done well also.

I just picked up the 20th anniversary with the 3.8 turbo. Hope it turns out as nice as yours.

Thanks, guys!

There are more detailed pics at the link I posted, too.

I have that '89 anniversary kit, too. I think it will be a nice companion for the red one. I do like that Turbo 6, too. Better a Buick engine than a Chebby when it comes to Ponchos, I always say!

Oooh! That'd look awesome! I forgot about that colour for these. You think of white red and maroon, normally, but the dark grey is a very nice colour. Grey interior, I assume?

That'd look sharp as a tack!
