WIP Holden VL Walkinshaw and VK Commodore
Posted by viper_j82 on Friday, January 18, 2019 1:49 PM

Hi everyone I am also currently working on a VL Walkinshaw and VK Commodor, both will have the same chassis which is a chassis from a Nissan S13 Silvia that I lengthened. The Walkinshaw will have a fuel injected 5L Holden mot and the VK will have a carby fed Holden 308.

G'day viper.  I'm looking forward to following along with these builds.

The VK & VL bodies look pretty accurate, who casts them?  Cheers, & thanx.

Hi Steve

Thanks mate yeah love doing the aussie cars and hopefully I can do them justice mate.

The VK body is done by a guy on Facebook book and his page is Pete’s resin and custom slots and the VL Walkinshaw will be available hopefully soon and once the VL is ready I’ll be working on modifying one of the shells to a stock VL and a stock VK and then possibly a VH commodor, it’s going to be a very busy year lol.

Cheers

These will be interesting to watch you build. If I ever found out they made a kit of the current generation of Supercars both my other builds would get put on hold! Is the blue tape to hold he wheels in place for test fitting?

Feelings are like scents: The more they are analyzed, the worse they smell.

Hi Mike

yes the blue tape was used just to hold the tyres and front suspension in place while I was lengthening is he chassis and test fitting everythin. As for the current generation of V8 supercar I don’t think they will come out as a kit but there has been a hint that they might come out as a shell so will have to wait and see on that one.

cheers

Nice Commodores. I've built the old Jaymar VK and VL transkits. they are low quality slush casts and also need a donor chassis. Well worth to have a great subject in my collection.

I got the Oz Legends 1/24 charger and Trax 1/24 charger (both diecast) and look better than those resin kits. i had one of those chargers, butchered it to make this
