1968 Dodgoe Hemi Super Stock LO23 build .... Follow along !

Te LO23 RPO was possibly the rarest mopar in 1968 , with less than 80 produced . These were provided with fiberglass front ends ,aluminum bumpers ,  steelies , and a monster hemi under the hood ! They also shed the window regulators in favor of seatbelt type strapping to hold the Corning lightweight glass (commonly broken even before delivery)  Revell provided a excellent beginning to a correct LO23 with the 2n1 kit . A nice replica can be make with a few modifocations of kit supplied parts , as well as a bit of scratch building .....

the fiberglass fenders didn't have provisions for markers , so the were removed , also a line dividing the fender from rocker was made on each side .

The rear armrests were removed , as were all 4 window cranks .  New lines were then scribed to represent the panels . seatbelt material will be added later to represent the 1:1

"rare" kit? no such thing!

build it, dont let it sit on the shelf.....

you cant take it with you, hearses dont have luggage racks......

This thread reminds me of a build done by Burlllee back in March, 2008.

Glad you picked Cragar S/S's - skinny steels & crossply rears wouldn't last too long with a 4 speed 426 @ 600 BHP+

Now , I am drooling all over my laptooooooooooooooooooooooooooooppp ! Stick out tongue

( I've just " saved " a pair of blueline Goodyear slicks

& daisy mags from my T'rantula dragster ! )

Great build :)

Thank you for the shoutout Mrmike. I really enjoyed doing that build. Hard to believe it was ten years ago.

I called mine "68 Hemi Dart, my most accurate build!" and it was. I really enjoyed doing the research and learning about these cars. I still hope to one day do a '68 Cuda to go along with it Tongue Tied
