Those were intensely rare cars, often ordered by dealers who didn't really 'get' the concept of a performance-oriented full-size car. Most of that price and content market was starting to go to the specialized personal luxury segment cars like the Pontiac Grand Prix.

Is this an original issue or an early reissue ?? has alot more badging than mine

It is indeed a modern reissue, the latest one I believe (with the blue car on the box art). In fact, most of the badging on mine comes from the excellent Keith Mark's decal sheet :

I also wasnt happy with the detail on the interior very faint almost none im almost done so look for mine when its ready tell me what you think

Don't know how I missed this one.  Really nice build from a somewhat dog of a kit.  That stripe really sets it off; looks a lot like a Torino stripe.  I started this one, but was so disgusted with the fit of the SOHC parts I put it back on the shelf.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!
